Creamy Pear Berry Oatmeal
I have never been much of a pear buyer.. and what I mean by that is I know i LOVE pears when I order them out or when something is pear flavored. But, for some reason when I’m in the store I just never seem to pick any up and try them myself! So they were on sale last week and I got 2.. let them sit and sit and sit until today I knew I had to do something with these sweet fruits. YUM.
Creamy, pear berry oatmeal so easy and so fulfilling on a kinda chilly Colorado morning.
To make:
1 cup of Organic Oats (I will always tell you to go Organic here)
1 cup of boiling water
1/3 cup of milk (I used oat but any non dairy or dairy will work, again promoting the non dairy life)
1 pear
handful of berries (black or blue will work)
2 tsp ghee
1 tpsb maple syrup
peacans, walnuts, whatever nuts you like
cinnamon
To create:
Boil water. While water is boiling rinse & dice your pears, I left the skins on but either way works. Warm your milk and butter over medium heat in a sauce pan. After the butter melts add in the pears and maple syrup and bring to a strong simmer. Pour boiling water over oatmeal and cover with a plate. Stir the pears around in your simmering milk until they are soft. If you are using dairy milk watch be careful not to boil or spoil :) Pour over the oats. Sprinkle with berries, cinnamon, and nuts.
ENJOY!
