Notice That

What draws your attention? Each of us is programmed to be alert and to focus on things that bring us pleasure. In a world of, look at me!! Look at this. We can easily become distracted and miss out on truly noticing subtle beautiful moments. A few seconds of precious, artistic moments full of love may be all around us and we are engaged elsewhere. Imagine what people noticed before they were so drawn into their social lives via a phone? Mmm.. true art!

I took time today to put it away and just be with what was happening around me.. here is what I encountered..

A documentation of what I can remember noticing today.

  • Hawks circling over me. I was so intrigued by these massive birds, four of them making their rounds above the trees. After walking about a half mile they were lower, I must have been close to a nest. They made their hawk sounds and their hawk presence clear it was so majestic.

  • Sunflowers in their prime state. Its a big deal around here to plant sunflowers next to the mailbox and I really appreciate it. There were so many bunches of flowers radiating. I did not want to pick a single one but only stop and say hello, thank you for your beauty.

  • A nature bench next to a babbling brook. I searched for “private property” signs and none were in sight. Someone put this bench here for any passerby to enjoy. It called straight to my soul. I sat. Listening to the sounds of the running water, basking in the calming feelings. Thank you.

  • A flickering candle. How magic is this moment. We constantly light candles to bring in a vibration. Have you ever stopped to truly notice and appreciate this fascinating moment in time?

  • A father/daughter hug. Its so protective and loving and big. She had the biggest smile on her face like no matter what storm came she had a shield.

  • The skies of grey meets the skies of blue. A rainstorm caught in between. I had hoped for a rainbow but instead I saw the gradient transition of dark meets light. Its so beautiful to see the push of natures force. A balance.

This was a post I had left as a draft from the summer 2020.

Just today I have embraced the feeling of deep breaths in a cold shower, receiving a message that my aunts have been praying for me, the smell of fresh brewed coffee, waking up to the morning light. Small but amazing moments of a day.

I would love to invite you to take a few moments to dwell on the small but wonderful moments you have had in your day or set an intention to find some in the upcoming week 💗
